Nortel DE3801E01, 302249-A CMTS 1000 AC power 8 upstreams DE3801E01
The Nortel Networks CMTS 1000 provides full spanning tree bridging functionality and offers up to eight channels upstream and two channels downstream, for flexibility. Additionally, the Nortel Networks CMTS 1000 complies with the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) standards, which define standards for networking equipment that will be attached to the cable plant (i.e., the cable modem and the cable modem termination system).
Featuring a high performance reduced instruction set computer (RISC)-based architecture, the Nortel Networks CMTS 1000 delivers the data forwarding and filtering capabilities required by the most demanding applications. The Nortel Networks CMTS 1000 also features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface and supports a 6 MHz 64 or 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) Cable TV (CATV) downstream channel and a variable-rate Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) or 16 QAM upstream channel. These features enable a cable operator to provide users with a flexible high-performance networking solution. The Nortel Networks CMTS 1000 is also fully compliant with the DOCSIS Baseline Privacy Specifications to ensure cable plant security and private end-to-end communications. It provides comprehensive filtering capabilities based on packet type, address, port, or protocol, allowing cable operators to configure their security measures to fit their exact requirements. Cable operators can easily differentiate services for their business customers through Nortel Networks Media Access Control (MAC) Scheduler, which allows services to be configured by data rate or priority. The CMTS 1000 can also move channels to different frequencies and change channel width dynamically, without operator intervention, allowing operations to be customized based on specific cable plant characteristics and avoiding problems caused by channels with high signal-to-noise characteristics.
